This Policy is designed to assist you in understanding how My Personal Move collects, uses and safeguards the personal information you provide as part of email and website communication. My Personal Move defines accountability for this Privacy Policy. The responsibility for approval and implementation of this Privacy Policy are the executive management of My Personal Move.
Documentation / Communication
This Privacy Policy is documented and communicated to all members within My Personal Move and to every customer / vendor via a link to the policy under each employee’s signature line. This provides easy access to the policy to everyone in communication with My Personal Move.
Electronic Communications
This message is covered by the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, Title 18, United States Code, Sections 2510-2521. The information in email messages and in any attachments may be confidential. If you are not the intended recipient of these messages, you must not read, forward, print, copy, disclose, or use in any way the information these messages or any attachments they may contain. If you are not the intended recipient, please notify the sender immediately and delete or destroy all copies of these messages and any attachments. Any views expressed in these messages are those of the individual sender, except where the sender specifically states them to be the views of My Personal Move. Any other use, re-creation, dissemination, forwarding or copying of this e-mail is strictly prohibited and may be unlawful.

My Personal Move is committed to environmental leadership and we believe that environmental protection is the responsibility of every employee of the corporation. Our policy concerning environmental protection addresses aspects of the corporation’s operations which can potentially impact the environment. We acknowledge that our share of activity on a global level is limited; however, being an industry leader, we recognize that we have an important role to play in encouraging others to reduce their adverse effects on the environment. We will achieve this through continuous innovation of products and services that are beneficial for the environment, whilst having a positive effect on the company’s return on investment. When you visit this site you may provide My Personal Move with personal information (Personal Information) you choose to disclose by contacting My Personal Move and/or usage information collected by My Personal Move. Usage information is typically not visible to you and is collected on an anonymous basis as you and others browse this site (Usage Information).

Usage Information collected

Sharing information as required by law
We may be required by law or a government agency to disclose both Personal and Usage Information you have provided to My Personal Move and will do so if required by law or subpoena.
Security of Personal and Usage Information
My Personal Move collects, uses, retains, and discloses personal data only for the purpose of facilitating the transportation and storage of our customer’s household goods and personal effects.
My Personal Move limits the use of personal information to the purposes defined in this Privacy Policy and for which the customer has provided implicit and explicit consent.My Personal Move retains personal information for only as long as necessary or as required by law and thereafter appropriately disposes of such information.
We secure your personal information submitted by you by using reasonable efforts to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, or accidental loss or destruction. Other communications you may have with My Personal Move via email or postal mail may not be secure unless My Personal Move advises you that security measures are in place prior to your sending information. Therefore, if you choose to communicate with My Personal Move through these means, you are assuming the risk of doing so and My Personal Move requests that you do not send or post sensitive information through these means.
Upon request, My Personal Move will allow customers access to their personal information (if retained) for review and update.
Quality
My Personal Move maintains accurate, complete, and relevant personal information only for the purposes as defined in this Privacy Policy.
In addition, in order to provide quality service, and as part of the normal course of doing business, at various stages of a customer’s move we may share your personal information with the following types of third parties on a need to know basis in order to provide or facilitate services associated with your employer sponsored relocation:
Departure Service or Destination Service Providers (including, but not limited to: real estate brokers/agents, rental housing providers, real estate appraisers, home inspection companies, temporary housing providers, travel service providers (airlines, hotels and rental car companies), mortgage companies; title/escrow companies, and real estate attorneys)
Origin or Destination Movers
Customs Brokers / Agents
Steamship Lines or Airlines
Ground Transportation companies
All the above third parties are informed and committed to accomplish the elements of this Privacy Policy. We have taken all measures possible to ensure that our supply chain and third parties know, understand, and maintain such policy.
Monitoring and Enforcement
My Personal Move monitors compliance of its Privacy Policy through the following methods:
- An annual review of the Privacy Policy for relevance to the current business climate
- A review of any complaints or disputes on privacy related issues during the previous 12 calendar months.
- An annual review of our Supply Chain and any privacy related issues
Privacy related complaints and disputes will be escalated to appropriate management for review and resolution. Based on this review, one of the following courses of action will be implemented:
- A determination will be made if adherence to My Personal Move’s Privacy Policy was met, or if a deviation from the stated Privacy Policy occurred.
Based on the review results, a communication will be sent to the customer explaining the decision of management, and, if applicable, identifying the root cause of the problem and steps taken within My Personal Move to prevent the possibility of it happening again.
An internal review will be conducted either formally or informally to determine if a change is operational procedure is necessary to improve the Privacy Policy, or to prevent the occurrence from happening again (if applicable).
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
The European Union’s (EU) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which replaces the Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC, took effect May 25, 2018. It states that when we are progressing in the action to provide you any part of the relocation service, you as the client will be responsible as the Data Controller of your personal information. Being the Data Controller consists of being responsible for telling us how you want your information shared and processed. GDPR updated rules on outgoing data for EU citizens. My Personal Move, our vendors and our partners act as a Data Processor that will not share information unless given consent by the Data Subject. The main purpose of GDPR is to protect EU citizens from data breaches. My Personal Move will only use your information to share, transfer or store based on what you have permitted us.
California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
Effective January 1, 2020, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) is to protect the privacy of California citizens. This act does not have borders and applies to all companies with a California resident’s data. Similar to the GDPR, consumers have the right to know and control how data companies use and process their personal information. My Personal Move will only use your information to share, transfer or store based on what you have permitted us. You as the consumer have the right to control how the data is being used and the right to delete data. My Personal Move is responsible for protecting your personal data to avoid a security breach.
